Beauty Box: How to get all dolled up

The event: SM Beauty’s Doll Glam event held recently at The Block in SM City North EDSA showcased the Japanese gyaru or dolly look — big pretty eyes, flushed cheeks and pouty lips.

The looks: Doll Glam highlighted four versions of the gyaru look — “Back to Cute” consists of a playful blonde bob and defined eyes with full lashes; “Power Pretty” features a copper updo, a hint of pink on the cheeks and light on the eyes; “Sexy Magic” is all about the red lip, bright eyes and a natural wave of blonde hair; and “Hippie Calling” which is anchored on red-brow long, wavy hair, super smoky eyes, and nude makeup.

Fashion and lifestyle blogger Nicole Anderson hosted the event together with blogger-photographer Tricia Gosingtian and Filipina cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao, who participated in the Doll Glam Challenge. There were free makeover sessions, nail color booths, and Doll Glam packages for the dolly-like dressed-up ladies from SM Beauty.

The brands: Beautylabo, Palty, Pixy, Heroine Make, Kate Tokyo, NYX, Max Factor, BYX, Maybelline Color Show, Dolly Wink, Lucido L., and Cutex were among the brands that participated, all available at the SM Beauty section of selected SM Stores.
