MANILA, Philippines - Dune London recently unveiled its autumn/winter 2014 collection and what it does is wipe the fashion slate clean — clear of the outrageous trends of late. For this season, Dune seems to be making a stand for clean and contemporary dressing — none of those clunky “flatforms,” no over-the-top embellishments. It even approaches beading in a way that’s polished and subdued, and the resulting footwear are ones you can wear even on weekends, in broad daylight.

The collection shows contrasting colors, plush embossed leathers and texture mash-ups that bring interest to classic stapes. Linear silhouttes anchor the collection, drawing elegant profiles and architectural shapes. Simplicity in form is elevated with rich textures — oily metallic, chunky glitter, lace and patent gloss. Sleek points and sharp heels dominate.

The daywear line takes on an androgynous slant, with brogues, loafers and ankle boots, heavy cleat soles and buckle detailings, and rich chocolate tones.

For accessories, reptile and feline prints are all over. They play a key role in the range, giving dressy casual pieces that necessary jolt of fashion-forwardness. They appear in combination with textures and bold hues.

Over all, the look is minimal, understated and clean — pieces to weather and wear whatever the season.
