We are all MaArte!
We need not go far to find products created by skilled Filipino craftsmen — admired here and abroad — as the Museum Foundation of the Philippines (MFPI) brings 50 outstanding artisans from all over the Philippines to showcase their works in “MaArte 2014 Artisan Fair,” which is slated from Aug. 28 to 31, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Rockwell Tent, Makati City.
Now in its fifth year, MaArte Artisan Fair is an annual fundraising project of the MFPI, which supports the National Museum’s activities related to education, exhibitions, publications and collection management.
MaArte organizing committee members Maritess Pineda, Cedie Vargas, Mita Rufino,
Mel Francisco and Susie Quiros work very hard every year to make these artisans’ wares available to the public in one venue.
“With the MaArte platform, the MFPI aims to support Filipino artisans to continue doing their product designs by developing new, innovative, original and green products; increase their productivity to make their businesses sustainable and competitive; to create and develop new products as inspired by the MaArte loyal buyers; to persevere in their crafts and ensure that the transfer of the skills component is included in their business plan,” explains Maritess Pineda, MFPI vice president.
The event is supported by Smart Infinity, Metrobank and Proscinium by Rockwell.
