Getting school-cool this summer

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Summer evokes a sense of happy nostalgia over days spent strolling the campus in clothes that are practical, laid-back, and fuss-free. Such cool spontaneity inspired the summer collection of clothing brand F&X, aptly dubbed “Urban College.”

With sporty elements and nostalgic vintage looks, the F&X collection highlights combinations of stripes, cartoon characters and statement prints, special washes, and accents like studs and rhinestone embellishments.

The men’s line is characterized by commercial and clean styles, basic yet trendy. Key items are short- and long-sleeved shirts — in woven styles, checks and stripes — and pants in basic fit. Taking off from the idea of vintage, meanwhile, the rest of the summer collection for men is underscored by classic casual pieces made trendy and fashionably urbane with innovative fabrics and washed styles.

For the women’s line, streetwear is the key look: fabrics such as cotton, viscose, crochet, lace, chiffon, and denim crafted into easy-going basics. Trendier and dressier items in the collection include mini-length dresses and shirts with dot and stripe prints. Pieces that make use of the pigment dye technique are also must-haves.

Bring back those fun campus days, and bask in the nonchalance of summer through F&X’s latest collection for men and women.
