Art auction for a cause
Those who attended Carewell Community Foundation’s major fundraiser “Auction with a 2twist†realized that being charitable was not only good for the soul but also for those looking for investment art pieces.
The side veranda of the Manila Polo Club in Makati City was transformed into a gallery, which featured the artworks of Jigger Cruz, Gus Albor, Ivan Acuña, Kenneth Cobonpue and many other generous artists who wanted to be part of this charitable effort.
Guests were serenaded by the Manila Symphony Orchestra.
The auction proceedings were presided by my favorite host of all time, Johnny Litton, broadcast journalist Ces Oreña Drilon, cancer survivor and advocate Michelle Dayrit Soliven and the ever bubbly Tessa Prieto Valdes.
Carewell Community Foundation shared 50 percent of the net auction proceeds with typhoon Yolanda survivors.
The foundation has been at the forefront of providing medical assistance and psychosocial support to cancer patients and their loved ones for the past seven years.
Lifestyle and health choices are offered that include retreats, dance classes, art sessions, yoga, sports activities and just plain socializing that is the best medicine for many aches and pains.
If you wish to donate, call 815-1294 or visit Carewell Community Foundation’s Facebook page.
