Gucci dresses Beyonce for her tour

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -Gucci is dressing up singer/songwriter Beyoncé for her Mrs. Carter Show tour in a series of one-of-a-kind outfits designed by creative director Frida Giannini.

Beyoncé debuted two Gucci outfits at her Barclays Center shows recently: a fully embroidered mini dress embellished with metallic sequins and feathers in a degrade effect from taupe to deep red; and a black embroidered three-quarter-sleeved V-neck optical beaded top and white silk stretch trousers.

Beyoncé will introduce additional looks during the Latin American portion of her tour kicking off on Sept. 8 in Brazil.

Giannini said, “Designing for Beyoncé was great fun as she always puts on an amazing live show. I wanted the outfits to bring to life the assertive, powerful femininity I see in her performances. Her sheer talent, work ethic and uncompromised authenticity are her defining characteristics.”

This comes after Frida Giannini, Beyoncé and Salma Hayek Pinault joined forces earlier this year to create Chime for Change, an ongoing global campaign to raise funds and awareness for girls’ and women’s empowerment. Beyoncé also wore two one-of-a-kind outfits and one Gucci Première gown designed by Frida Giannini when she headlined The Sound of Change Live concert, presented by Gucci, at Twickenham Stadium in London on June 1.

In the Philippines, Gucci is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is located at Greenbelt 4, Ayala Center and Rustan’s Shangri-La Plaza Mall.
