Smell and wear the flowers

With the heated elections over and the rains cooling us down, the merry month of May is indeed in full swing. One of the much-anticipated events this month is the traditional Flores de Mayo Santacruzan (Holy Cross), an event  which honors Mama Mary with the town’s young girls and prettiest ladies in a pageant and floral offering that commemorates Emperor Constantine and his mother St. Helen who in 325AD found Christ’s cross in Jerusalem.  The church is abloom with flowers that are beautifully decorated by parishioners and everyone is in a festive mood.

Fashionwise, â€˜tis the season to wear bright, floral patterns. 

So bring out the flowers and wear them.
