MANILA, Philippines - Fans of Rustan’s — shoppers who go for the best world-class products and excellent service — can now have a Rustan’s designer fan to keep them cool this summer. For every single receipt purchase of P10,000 at the cosmetic, perfumery and toiletries sections between March 1 and April 31, a shopper gets a limited edition Monchet Y Compania fans, made exclusive to Rustan’s by Monchet Olives.
Monchet Y Cia is a tribute to a family heritage of handmade fans using sustainable wood and embellished with rings and silk tassles. Each fan comes in a gold box with the Rustan’s logo.
Monchet Y Cia is the bespoke heritage line of Casa Mercedes, the oldest fan maker in the Philippines, celebrating its 50th year.
Begun 60 years ago by three Diokno sisters —Angelita Olives, Mercedes Rovira and Dr. Leonora Casas — the fan business was inspired by a trip to Madrid in the 1950s. The company has provided fans to Rustan’s since its early days in San Marcelino.
The petal fan for Rustan’s, a classic design originating from designer Pitoy Moreno who requested a fan to match the terno of an esteemed client. It is the second collaboration of MYC, the first being the production of limited-edition “I Can Serve†fans to campaign for breast cancer awareness.
