Just for hair: A stylish evening of fashion, food and music
Tresemmé capped the year 2012 with an elegant evening of fashion, food and music attended by Manila’s stylish set. Hosted by Unilever Philippines head of PR personal care Apples Aberin, the sleek and chic-themed event began with the introduction of Tresemmé’s style team — creative virtuoso Raymond Gutierrez, style arbiter Liz Uy and backstage onlooker Kelly Misa.
Joining them as Tresemmé ambassadors were the tres afficionados: hairdressers and salon owners Jing Monis, Tinette Puyat and Victor Ortega. Together, they toasted the runaway success of Tresemmé as the latest hair product sensation to hit the Philippines.
Guests were treated to a visual feast of Philippine fashion. Against a backdrop of dramatic black and white, designers Cary Santiago, Francis Libiran, JC Buendia and Jun Escario each presented a five-piece collection showcasing their individual creativity and fashion virtuoso. Strutting the runway alongside Manila’s top mannequins were the new Philippine Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP) members who wore fiery red creations by Eric de los Santos, Rajo Laurel and Randy Ortiz.
Following the fashion presentation was a palate-sating four-course sit-down dinner prepared by Margarita Fores and her team. We dined on parmiggiano reggiano pudding, seafood ragu open ravioli, braised and grilled US Angus short ribs topped off by a delicate dessert of crepe mille-feuille with mixed berries and cream; champagne flowed, red and white wine were served to accompany the delectable meal.
While enjoying the exquisite food and the lively conversation with the other fashion enthusiasts around the table, we were entertained by the soulful solo guitar playing and original renditions of model Robby Mananquil and the sultry, hypnotic singing of Nyko Mica and her music group Sinyma. The evening’s delightful selection of jazz, reggae and soul music kept us enthralled, dancing in our seats, waving our hands and bobbing our heads like we watching a top-class concert; we could have listened to them all night long. Guests lingered and hobnobbed until almost midnight; what a spectacular evening of Fashion’s Finest 2012 by Tresemmé.
