Kate Spade plays with prints, polka dots and Parisian chic
MANILA, Philippines - The fashion world is into prints and polka dots. Or so says bold yet chic designer clothing brand Kate Spade which recently held a preview of its fall 2012 collection at its boutique in Greenbelt 3.
Presented by Stores Specialists Inc. and Metrobank Card Corporation, the event gave customers the chance to view the latest designs via a mini fashion show that featured the newest pieces for the season.
Inspired by the Cour D’Honneur at Paris’ Palais Royal, the collection evokes a play on prints, mixing abstract patterns with dreamy water colors, and polka dots of every proportion. The palette this season features a range of rich hues: mustard mingles with a bright maraschino red and pops of aqua punctuate a deep forest green — and as always, black and white stand in crisp contrast and make for a great canvas.
Flirty details and frills are juxtaposed with moments that are more masculine while ladylike silhouettes are cut with chunky zippers and oversize sweaters are paired with sleek minis and colorful skinny trousers. Structured bags and clutches with strong architectural lines throw off the femininity of ruffled dresses, which make for a great companion to this season’s coats and trenches.
After the show, the Metrobank cardholders were treated to exclusive shopping perks for the night, and a nail station that offered free application of cute Kate Spade nail stickers.
In the Philippines, Kate Spade is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists Inc. (SSI) and is located at The Power Plant Mall, Greenbelt 3, Rustan’s Makati, and Shangri-La Plaza Mall.
