Keep your brows as natural as possible
Hi, Regina!
Do people with very thick brows still need to use an eyebrow pencil?
Sandra
If you’re rocking Jennifer Connelly- or Lily Collins-esque brows that are thick and very dense, then consider yourself super lucky! All you need to do is to get them professionally shaped on a regular basis. (Browhaus’ threading services are the best; they clean up your brows perfectly and always create a natural shape that flatters your facial structure. Try to go once a month, if you can.)
If your brows are thick but a little sparse (meaning, you can see some very small spaces between your brow strands where skin shows through), or if you want your brows to look darker, you can get your brows shaped, and then use a dark brown brow powder to fill them in and create more definition.
Brow pencils are only absolutely necessary for those with thick brows if there are very obvious big gaps, like those caused by scars. But if you think you need the added definition that a brow pencil can provide, then by all means, go for it! Just remember to draw small, hair-like strokes to keep your brows looking as natural as possible.

Beauty Alert: Dark Spots Can Make Your Skin Look Older
Dear Rissa,
I will take this chance to request for a cream for my face that’s effective but not too expensive. I am 67 years old and my problem is I have dark spots on my cheeks, probably due to aging. But I don’t have the resources to go to a popular dermatologist. I am using creams, but to no avail. Please help!
Nelinda
I know how you feel. I’ve tried expensive award-winning creams and even if I finished the entire bottle, I never saw results. It’s painful when the only thing they lighten is your wallet. I highly recommend you try Pond’s Flawless White Anti-Spot Intensive Whitening Serum Micro-Roller (SRP P249, available in leading department stores, supermarkets and personal care stores nationwide). I love my morena skin, but because I scar easily even with a mere mosquito bite, I use Pond’s Flawless White to treat dark spots and acne scars. One magazine editor even swears it cleared out her stretch marks! What most women don’t realize is that dark spots can also make the skin look older. That’s why women are growing more concerned about uneven skin tone.
I love how this new Pond’s product features a micro-roller. It’s easy to use: simply squeeze the tube and apply the roller directly over the area of concern in a circular motion; then gently spread the excess with your fingertips. The circular movement of the micro-rollers gently massages skin and increases blood flow to the surface, assuring effective delivery of the product.
Face massagers with roller balls are actually huge in Japan. The last time I was in Japan, I saw it in every health and beauty store I entered! It was also featured in countless Japanese magazines and TV shows. The bumps on the roller are said to stimulate your facial skin and muscles to combat sagging skin and wrinkles. By moving the roller along the cheekbones and the jawline, the face massager also encourages circulation and relieves stress in minutes. It’s such a big hit in Japan that they sell even tiny ultra-portable versions of the face massager — smaller than a razor! (The Pond’s Flawless White Anti-Spot Intensive Whitening Serum Micro-Roller reminded me of these!) Japanese women keep it at home or carry one in their handbag for an instant “facelift” anytime.

The Sexy Solution Minus Surgery
Dear Lucy,
How does Sexy Solutions work? Is it really non-invasive?
Also, I really like the way your hair is layered. Who cuts it?
Noelle
SS is non-invasive and comfortable. Initially, there are three successive treatments applied on the problem that work synergistically together: Lipocavitation (melts fat), Multi Firm (tightens skin), Body Sculpt (tones muscle). I tried it after going on a bread and butter binge and in the first session alone, I lost 2.6 inches! I am looking forward to my next session. I think it works even faster when you couple it with a sensible diet and exercise. Go to a Belo clinic and they will give you more information about it.
Re my hair, Jas of Hairworks salon cuts it. Her shop is right across the street from the Greenbelt 5 main entrance.I have my brows done there, too.
