Unica Hija embraces local ingenuity
MANILA, Philippines - Unica Hija debuted in Philippine Fashion Week with back-to-back school and holiday 2012 collections for the modern Filipina.
The faces of Unica Hija graced the runway and kept the show upbeat and fun. Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo and Ford Supermodel Charo Ronquillo opened the show in matching ensembles — keeping in sync with the brand’s passion to embrace local ingenuity.
“I’m usually out in my basic outfit: simple jeans and shirt but for days when I go out I usually choose from Unica Hija’s line of comfortable blouses that I can easily match to create my own personal style for the day. I also like the dresses, they’re simple yet stylish,” said the budding fashionista. Sarah took on the stage in a bubbly and confident demeanor as she sashayed down the catwalk gleefully, “I really enjoyed walking the runway for Unica Hija and it was a fun experience working with professional models. I learned a lot from them and Charo was very supportive.”
Ford Supermodel Charo Ronquillo has had a lot of experience taking on the catwalk, but for her, walking the runway for Unica Hija differs from her previous shows: “This show differs from other shows that I have done because I got to walk the runway for a clothing brand that caters to all kinds of Filipinas — from teenagers to young working women. By being the new member of the Unica Hija family, I was privileged to ramp with Sarah G and we got to show everyone how fun and fresh the clothes are. I really had fun! It is an experience to remember.”
For Charo, flowy dresses, colorful tops, shorts, jeans, and a variety of fun accessories like bangles and necklaces are her style must-haves. “My fashion style has evolved over the years. I really love wearing casual yet feminine clothing. That’s why I love Unica Hija because it truly suits my style,” Charo said with a smile.
