Meryl Streep wears Ferragamo in 'The Iron Lady'
MANILA, Philippines - The Italian luxury brand Salvatore Ferragamo took part in the movie The Iron Lady, starring Meryl Streep, who wears some accessories, including shoes and bags made with precious materials and faithful to the style of the film and its main character.
Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, The Iron Lady looks at the rise and fall of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, through the eyes of a woman now 80 years old and nostalgic. Two-time Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep gives a performance of spellbinding power, delivering to the public the memory of an elegant and sophisticated woman.
The world premiere of the film was held last December at Ziegfeld Theatre in New York with Ferragamo as one of the main sponsors of the night. With this new partnership, the Florentine brand confirms the forward-looking relationship with the cinema born with its founder Salvatore Ferragamo, “Shoemaker to the Stars,” who in the past created shoe models for the most popular actresses in the world, such as Greta Garbo, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren and recently for Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston.
