Structured hairstyles are back!

-

MANILA, Philippines - It’s all about sassy sophistication in 2012 as structured hairstyles make a comeback.

“Structured hair can make a daring statement all on its own,” says hair and beauty guru Ricky Reyes.

In contrast to the deconstructed look where hair just falls everywhere, the structured look makes for a neater, smarter, and more professional look.

“The fashion-forward look is best suited for the younger crowd up to the 30s, but if you’re between 35 and 45, this can give you a more youthful look. The structured look is anything but boring,” shares Ricky.

Ricky shares the following tips on how to achieve the structured hairstyle:

• Chop it off. For the adventurous, short, cropped hair with uneven ends is all the rage. “Very few can get away with this, but if you can rock it, go for it!”

• Cascading fringes. Long, blunt bangs are out. Textured fringes are in. Keep bangs short and around the crown. “Cascading fringes open up the face and add definition to your features.”

• Layered curls. For those with longer hair, sleek, layered curls can give the hair more volume and an edgy flair. To achieve this look, Ricky Reyes Salons offer Recurl where hair is rebounded from the roots to mid length, where the permanent curls start. “It’s a safer process to achieving loose, natural-looking curls,” explains Ricky. “It is also easy to maintain, requiring only finger-combing, or blow-drying without brushing.
