A fashion holiday with SM designers

-

MANILA, Philippines - Tis the season to party, sparkle, and shine. And somehow, there is nothing like a designer ensemble to make you stand out in the crowd. With their names behind the labels, designers are the rock stars of fashion, whose daring sense of innovation influences the way we dress, the way we express ourselves.

With its unrelenting passion for fashion, SM Department Store has gathered together its premier designers, celebrating their signature designs for the holidays. What’s in-store for Manila’s fashionable set? Let’s hear it from SM designers Avel Bacudio, Vic Barba for Vittorio, Mike de la Rosa, Arnold Galang, Cesar Gaupo, Ricci Lizaso, Efren Ocampo, and Jon Salcedo for Juno.

Their collections are available at selected SM Department Stores.

Cesar Gaupo: “My holiday collection is very modern and something that has an individualistic approach. I have always been fascinated with women that look divine – sexy women who define high fashion and are not afraid to try new things. You’ll also find the structural, close-to-the-body silhouettes, which I have used for many years. “ The Cesar Gaupo collection is available at SM Department Store in Makati.

Efren Ocampo: “Audrey Hepburn’s iconic fashion sense is my inspiration for the holidays. My clothes will have soft, feminine, body-conscious silhouettes in chiffon, jersey, crepe, and satin. There will also be little black dresses, draped gowns, brocade outfits, and shift dresses in crepe.” The Efren Ocampo collection is available at SM Makati, Megamall, North EDSA, Southmall, and SM Mall of Asia.

Jon Salcedo for Juno: “I want women to look like goddesses, so my holiday collection will have a lot of colors – blue, aqua, periwinkle, sea green, lavender, violet, yellow, coral, red, and orange. There will also be a lot of glitter, glamour, and gold in my clothes.” Jon Salcedo’s Juno collection is available at SM Megamall Department Store.

Mike de la Rosa: “I’m inspired by all the glitter and glitz we have around us, so I’ll be doing a lot of shimmer for my holiday collection. But don’t expect an over-the-top and opulent look from me. Like in my past collections, my clothes will be in the simple, fluid lines – this time in gold lamé fabric.” The Mike de la Rosa collection is available at SM Makati, North EDSA, Megamall, Southmall, and Mall of Asia.

Avel Bacudio: “My line for SM is all about comfort and simplicity. My holiday palette is influenced by European colors – violet, fuchsia pink, blue, and black. You’ll also see a lot of elastic tulle and Mikado silk in my collection.” The Avel Bacudio collection is available at SM Department Store in Makati, Megamall, and SM Mall of Asia.

Ricci Lizaso: “I have a lot of jewel tones for the holidays, also lots of glitter and party pieces.” The Ricci Lizaso collection is available at SM Megamall Department Store.

Vic Barba for Vittorio: “My clothes are for people who have simple tastes, but are high on style. That’s why even if the holidays are festive, my collection is glitzy but elegant, mostly in beige with a little bit of shimmer, as well as a touch of gold and metallics.” The Vittorio collection is available at SM Department Store in Makati and Megamall.

Arnold Galang: “I’m basically a black person, but my holiday collection this year will be all about colors. Exuberant prints will highlight classic dresses and tops, injected with trendy, modern details and infused with technology. I’ll be using a lot of silk satin, silk chiffon, and jersey; as well as stretch fabrics for my collection.” The A. Galang collection is available at SM Makati and North EDSA.
