Fashion wares and more at the biggest Christmas bazaar

MANILA, Philippines - The St. James the Great Christmas Bazaar, now in its 20th year, will be held for five days on Nov. 26, 27, 28. 29 and 30, Saturday to Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cuenca Community Center and St. James parking lot in Ayala, Alabang Village.

Entrance is free to the biggest bazaar in the south of Manila with more than 500 concessionaires offering an enormous variety of products, which range from holiday food items for gift-giving to Christmas décor, home décor, wrought iron, native and imported bags, toys, shoes, Filipino ethnic products and handicrafts, Christmas packaging and wrappers, decorative candles, paintings, silver jewelry, over-runs of men’s, ladies and children’s clothes, accessories to sculptures.

It is a conglomeration of manufacturers, exporters, importers and traders from all over the Philippines like Davao, Cebu, Zamboanga, Boracay, Romblon, Bicol, Iloilo, Baguio, Pampanga, Quezon, Bulacan, Laguna, and Batangas.

The Food Pavilion has the participation of well-known eateries such as Las Paellas, Tapa King, Brothers Burger, Barrio Fiesta, Amici, Serye Restaurant, Fish & Co., Yellow Cab, Army Navy, Ellies Roasted Calf, Coolman Halo-Halo, Potato Corner and several others. Bibingkinita and Smokeys Hotdogs as sponsors. Official drinks are Coca-Cola and Viva Water.

Proceeds of this bazaar will be for the benefit of St. James Foundation. Through the years, 100 percent of the proceeds of the bazaar helped in the construction of the St. James the Great Parish Church from 1991 to 1993; the purchase of the St. James parking lot (Cuenca St. corner Nasugbu St.), which is now being used as one of the venues of the bazaar; installation of the air-conditioning system of the main church; building of the St. James Parish Rectory Annex for the use of the parish priest and the St. James employees quarters; and repair and maintenance of all parish structures.

The chairpersons for this event are Mimi and Nikki Valerio, with committee members Manny Gonzales, St. James Foundation president Ricky Presa, Parish Pastoral Council president Edza Gonzales, Titang Montinola, and parish priest Msgr. Albert Venus.

The highlight of the bazaar will be a grand raffle with home theaters, TV, DVD players, bar ref, washing machine, spin dryer, microwave oven, and other valuable items as prizes.

Globe Telecom is one of the major sponsors together with Unilever, AC Corporations, Tentworld, Pronto, Diamond-Rent-a-Car.

All MasterCard and Visa credit cards will be accepted. ATM machines and mobile ATMs, will be available to service the shoppers.

Free shuttle service will be provided for all the shoppers from the bazaar venue to their parked cars.
