Fashion, cocktails and canapés at Fashion Watch 2011

MANILA, Philippines - Makati Shangri-La, Manila presents Fashion Watch 2011 spring/summer collections every Thursday afternoon from Sept. 8 to Oct. 27 and on Oct. 24 at the Lobby Lounge.

The show features the inspired collections conceptualized and created by world-class talents of this season’s roster of 18 Filipino designers.

In celebration of this stylish series of events, the Lobby Lounge has created a special canapé and cocktail offering available exclusively during each Fashion Watch spring/summer collection presentation.

For P600 net, guests are entitled to seating during the fashion show and the Fashion Watch canapé set of smoked salmon on pumpernickel bread and cream cheese canapé, foie gras terrine on toasted brioche and fig jam canapé, and the Fashion Watch Cocktail, a unique concoction of lychee, rum, and sparkling wine.

 For guests who are in the mood for something more filling during the one-hour show, two upgrades are available. For an additional P300+, the set may be upgraded to an elegant Afternoon Tea, with a choice of Classic (raisin and lemon scones with clotted cream and homemade strawberry jam, selection of finger sandwiches: goat cheese and watercress, smoked salmon and dill mayonnaise on pumpernickel bread, roast beef, caramelized onion and seeded mustard aioli, chocolate financier, strawberry tartlet, walnut brownie, and lemon cheesecake) or Filipino (bibingka or sweet rice cake, beef kaldereta empanada or beef stew pie, vegetable okoy or fritters, pan de leche with chicken adobo spread, calamansi tartlet, young coconut salad, rice paste roll and leche flan).

For an additional P400, the set may be upgraded to the Canapé High Tea (herb-crusted tuna loin and avocado quenelle, cured salmon and mango, duck prosciutto on crouton with rocket and olive oil, tomato bruschetta and shaved Parmesan, pesto Spinosi wrapped in pork speck, onion and bacon tart, asparagus and goat cheese fagottino, yogurt and saffron-marinated fish skewer, and lamb and potato croquette).

Unveiling their spring/summer collections at Fashion Watch are Jun Escario and James Reyes on Sept. 8; Joel Escober and Jojie Lloren on Sept. 15; Ito Curata and Patrice Diaz on Sept. 22; Alex Bitong and JC Buendia on Sept. 29; Oj Hofer and Jerome Lorico on Oct. 6; Joey Samson and Len Nepumoceno on Oct. 13; Ferdi Abuel and Norman Noriega on Oct. 20; Dennis Lustico and Lulu Tan-Gan on Oct. 24; and Ivar Aseron and Philip Rodriguez on Oct. 27.

Besides an A-list roster of designers, models, and media partners Philippine STAR, Preview, StyleBible, and StarWorld, Fashion Watch boasts industry greats. Working behind the scenes are Manila’s Prince of Fashion Inno Sotto as creative director; Patrick Rosas for hair and makeup; and Grace Molina as project coordinator and director.
