Cool celebrations

With the rainy season in full swing, it was a series of cool celebrations that warmed our hearts and spirit with the following events around town.

Mel Meer’s Bergamo is one of the finest local men’s shops and with 12 branches from Manila to Cebu, it was a celebration of his newest boutique in Resorts World. Friends and family trooped to greet the snazzy proprietor whose barongs and suits are always worn by A-list males for top social functions. A Steinway grand piano was the focal point of the entrance with multi-talented Kate Torralba performing songs that have stood the test of time.

Turning 24 years in the publication field is no mean feat and Lifestyle Asia magazine has shown that it has not only survived the decades but has soared to new highs as it epitomizes living at its finest. With the popular Cirque de Soleil’s Varekai as the main event, many gamely braved the typhoon and flooded areas in Roxas Boulevard to congratulate the Mega team of Jerry Tiu, Anna Sobrepeña, Sari Yap, and Lorraine Belmonte.

Already known for celebrating the “Beautiful You” in the modern Filipina, Marionnaud Philippines, the popular retail chain recently held its annual “Marionnaud’s Beautiful MOMents” at SM Mall of Asia. Hosted by Issa Litton, the highlights of the program included questions for celebrity moms Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan, Maritoni Fernandez, Jackie Lou Blanco, Angel Jacob, and Isabel Roces who were asked about their beauty secrets and beauty products they can’t live without. Female guests were invited to participate in various booths that included makeovers, skincare and makeup workshops.
