MANILA, Philippines - In the early 1900s, one of the great explorers, Freya Stark, sported zippered bags. These elegant silhouettes and feminine forms of yesteryear are transformed into Furla’s new autumn-winter 2010-2011 collection, updated to be lightweight and functional. Moreover, cloth covers outlined her old traveling trunks. This inspired Furla’s collection to include exterior layers for a decorative and bold safari look, from leopard print to reptile skin to the colors of stones and butterflies. The leather is delicately tanned, weaving in upholstery fabric.

Furla’s shoe collection, meanwhile, is designed to be both functional and stylish. Shapes are classic, while rubber bands give a modern edge to the shoes.

Materials like velvet-effect calf leather, soft nappa leather, Himalayan leopard printed calfskin suede, crust leather and deer printed calfskin are used in the warm colors of autumn for an urban look.

In the Philippines, Furla is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is located at Greenbelt 5, Rustan’s Makati, and Shangri-La Plaza Mall.
