Dress without stress for the holidays

Christmas is near already and holiday parties are starting to fill up my calendar. Last year, I was panicking as to what to wear to each party and I would end up buying something at the last minute (which I really regret doing). I want to be more prepared (and relaxed!) this time. Can you suggest where I can get nice dresses? I don’t have time to make pagawa. Please recommend something off the rack and accessible at the malls. By the way, I’m 29 years old and I have a nine-to-five job.

Please share with me a brand of blush that will prettify my cheeks. I am not sure what color will suit me so if you can please suggest something that will work great on any skin tone.

You and eye: To open up your eyes, Shiseido’s Luminizing Satin Eye Color in Ocean Sunset is a nice kind of gold that you can use even during the day.

I also want a red lipstick, which I thought was easy to find, until I went to the makeup counter and was met with an army of red lipsticks that left me overwhelmed and confused. I once read in your column that yellow or gold shadow can open up the eyes. What specific shade will be good?

I know so many good brands, but I have simplified things for you so that for the items you are looking for, you need not go to too many different counters. Just head over to Shiseido, and for blush, ask for their Satin Cheek Color in carnation. It is a shell-peach hue that prettifies any skin tone, you can never go wrong with this shade. They also have their Perfect Rouge Tender Sheer lipstick in Natural Red RD629that is so lovely. The red looks so vibrant and the face just looks more translucent in comparison.

When you want to use gold shadow to open up your eyes, just brush on the Luminizing Satin Eye Color in Ocean Sunset. It is a nice kind of gold that you can well use even during the day. I hope that helps, Geena.
