'Us Girls' celebrates fashion
MANILA, Philippines - Premier lifestyle show Us Girls will honor the people behind the fashion statements that rocked the country in the first ever “Us Girls August Awards” tomorrow, Aug. 20 at the New Eastwood Mall in Libis, Quezon City.
Dubbed the hippest and most glamorous event of the year, “Us Girls August Awards” will single out the people whose beauty, sense of style, personality, and outstanding skill not only took the local fashion scene by storm but also raised its standards.
Us Girls hosts Iya Villania, Megan Young, and Angel Aquino will spearhead the tribute to Manila’s prettiest faces, best-dressed women, most imaginative stylists, and avant-garde makeup artists. The show will also feature performances by some of the country’s most popular artists.
The highlight of the event is the presentation of the “Us Girls Icon Award” to the celebrity who embodies the real modern woman — independent, smart, adventurous, and current, which is exactly what the program Us Girls is all about.

Fashion fans can have their say by voting for their style icons in the poll section of the Us Girls multiply site at http://usgirls23.multiply.com. They can also send in their choices through mail by filling out the “Us Girls August Awards Ballot” in the August issue of Chalk magazine.
Nominated for Stylist of the Year and Makeup Artist of the Year are experts in the A-list of the country’s fashion circle. For the Face of the Year, nominees are TV/movie actresses Claudine Barretto, Anne Curtis, Carla Abellana, and Nikki Gil while models Nicole Anderson, Bea Soriano, and Georgina Wilson are among the frontrunners for the Most Fashionable award.
Since its launch three years ago, Us Girls has been every girl’s best friend, always ahead in dishing out the latest in clothes, accessories, food, gizmos, and beauty secrets.
