Make Up For Ever's Spring Look 2009: Smoke gets in your eyes

-

For Spring 2009, I chose the look of a mysterious woman who gets her inspiration from her travels to create her own universe. Dany Sanz

Inspired by his muse’s numerous trips, Dany Sanz, artistic director of Make Up For Ever, created the Spring Look 2009 with a certain exoticism.

For 25 years, Dany Sanz has not only been inspired by her everyday urban life but also by her numerous journeys abroad.

2009 Spring Look pays tribute to all women who are sophisticated and bold. It represents a mysterious woman who is a combination of two interesting personas — subtle yet has an adventurous style. It is for women who have a unique, personal view of our ethnically diverse world. Women who create their own reality and have a truly Bohemian spirit

Make Up For Ever’s spring look colors are based on khaki, beige, brown, and white palettes. Ochre shades mingle with a play on shadow and light. This sensual makeup is inspired by the colors of the earth, both animal and mineral. The eyes are spiced up with a very dark smoky brown and the lips are ultra glossy for an adventurous, non-conformist spring look.

The Esprit Boheme Spring 2009 collection includes: HD Foundation, P2,250; HD Powder, P1,750; sculpting kit, P1,950; Eye Shadow and Blush #18, 161, 156, 162, 166, P1,050; Star Powder #946, 930, P1,000; Lash Fibers, P1,200; Smoky Lash, P1,350; Aqua Eyes 2L, P950; Faux-Lashes #13; P1,050; Waterproof Eyebrow Kit #3, P1,950; Fascinating Lipgloss, P1,020; Lipstick # 405, P1,050.

Beauty in motion: Olay Regenerist supports Ballet Philippines

No one can deny the power of dance in evoking beauty. The dancer’s graceful bearing, elegant lines, and supple skin make her a vision of loveliness. Indeed, dance is youthful beauty in motion.

Olay Regenerist joins Ballet Philippines in celebrating the beauty of dance through a partnership that showcases the country’s most seasoned ballet troupe in a series of performances celebrating its 39th anniversary.

The season comes to a fitting end next month when Ballet Philippines pays homage to the vast riches of its Filipino heritage in “Neo-Filipino.”

BP resident choreographer Alden Lugnasin draws on a fusion of live music, ethnic instruments, movement, drama, and contemporary dance to expose the plight of the indigenous Lumads of Mindanao while the ballet corps expresses the irresistible joie de vivre of youth onstage, looking all the more beautiful, thanks to Olay Regenerist.

Inspired by the precision and science behind laser treatments, the newest anti-aging boutique from Olay, Regenerist, offers revolutionary cell care through its exclusive amino-peptide complex, giving the dancers dramatically younger-looking skin — the perfect complement to their dramatic, ageless, and emotionally-charged performances.

The magic of lavender in Nyte-E face and hand lotion

Did you know that lavender is a multi-beneficial herb that dates back to the biblical times?

Legend has it that Adam and Eve took this plant with them when they left Eden, but it wasn’t until Jesus was born when it got its aroma. According to the story, the clothing of the newborn Jesus imparted the scent to a lavender bush when Mary placed the garments on it to dry. Many years later, Christ had His feet anointed with lavender ointment that filled the room with an amazing smell.

Charles VI of France slept on nothing but lavender-filled pillows while Queen Victoria used lavender deodorant.

The beautiful and powerful Cleopatra used lavender’s amorous qualities and seductive scent on Julius Caesar and Mark Anthony.

Today, lavender is used in numerous ways that take advantage of its potent antiseptic qualities, gentle curative properties, and mood-regulating ability.

Fact is, you can now benefit from lavender’s restorative attributes through Nyte-E, a natural face and hand lotion with the soothing effects of 100-percent pure lavender essential oil, available at Rustan’s Essenses.

Made from a combination of lavender and natural vitamin E, Nyte-E is formulated to restore and rejuvenate aging skin exposed to the harsh elements of daily life.

Nyte-E is exclusively available at Rustan’s Makati, Shangri-La, Alabang, Gateway Cubao, RE Essences, Ermita, and Cebu. For more information, visit www.nyte-e.com or text 4 INFO 0916 7410346.

Beverly Hills 6750 says goodbye to ‘metallic mouths’

Who wants “metallic mouths” when you can wear your smile proudly — even with braces?

Beverly Hills 6750, a leading aesthetics dermatology, plastic surgery, and cosmetic dentistry center, sure knows just what you need to wear your smile poudly: Invisalign.

Invisalign is a series of transparent (yes, clear) and removable teeth aligners used as an alternative to metal dental braces. It straightens the teeth — just like how metal braces do it — without making t obvious that you are undergoing a dental treatment.

Invisalign is removable as well, thus allowing easier brushing and flossing.

“We are proud that Invisalign technology has finally arrived in the country,” says Dr. Don Magadia, head of the dental section of Beverly Hills 6750. “Whereas it comes with a price tag of more than $7,000 to have these invisible braces installed in the US, the cost is a lot less in the Philippines, with the same efficiency and dramatic results.”

For more information on Invisalign, visit Beverly Hills at 11/F, 6750 Ayala Building, Ayala Avenue, Makati City or call 893-6750. Log on to www.bh6750.com.
