No tears for this Soap Opera

PENNY LANE - PENNY LANE By Rebecca C. Rodriguez -
After a hard day’s night of working like a dog, there is nothing like a long, hot bath to relax you. Since ancient times, a bath has been considered a healing ritual for body and soul.

When it comes to bath and body products, there are just loads to choose from wherever you go. Every single day, there is always a new bar of soap, body scrub and lotion in different store counters.

If you want a one-stop shop to enhance your bathing ritual — add a dash of pop culture to high-quality ingredients and you get all-natural skin, hair and body products from The Soap Opera Bath Shop. Mind you, all their products will keep you looking and feeling gorgeously clean like a soap star, of course.

An aside: It took the power of three for the company to be born. Sarah Duremdes, VP of Mixsolutions Unlimited, Inc., is in charge of Soap Opera’s product development. Along with her sister-in-law and head of marketing for the company, Anna Duremdes-Moran, they teamed up with Dana Santos to put up a hip boutique, The Soap Opera Bath Shop in SM Megamall.

"The Soap Opera Bath Shop offers a wide variety of high-quality, custom- blended bath and skincare products using ingredients from Switzerland," says Dana Santos, marketing manager of The Soap Opera Bath Shop. "My business partners and I were inspired by pop culture elements like music, films and even soap operas, which we infused in our product names."

My heart fluttered with products that delighted my senses and at the same time delivered the results I loved. Think fresh. Think clean. Think alive. I went gaga over the luscious body treats with funky names like Green Day, Charmed, Small Wonder, Roman Holiday and Jane’s Addiction, to name a few.

Perhaps what makes The Soap Opera Bath Shop unique is what makes it special — expect the products to be made of pure ingredients which are clinically tested and formulated by the brand’s very own in-house chemist and dermatologist.

There are certain products that surely made my shower hit list. I love the Purple Rain bath soap (P85) not because of the Prince song but because of its lavender and vanilla fragrance that washed my blues and stress away. For my face, I like the Blockbuster (P395), a sun block foundation with SPF 45 that is like a matte tinted moisturizer.

Co-owner Sarah Duremdes says, "I am a bath product junkie myself and I won’t be able to use my favorite shower gel every day if it’s going to take a bulk of my budget. Since our products smell good, they become so addictive. The more you use them, the happier you will be."

Anna Duremdes-Moran is a big fan of her company’s very own produce. She particularly likes the Talcum Room and Linen Spray (for a powder puff scent), Mint Lip Balm (peppermint flavor) and the Vitamin C Body Whitening Soap (citrus twist of orange and lemon for glowing skin). Duremdes-Moran says, "You get luxury goods at an affordable price. We continuously offer new bath goods that are freshly made without harmful preservatives and we make sure they are effective and deliver what they promise."

Since Soap Opera offers a wide variety of soaps with their counterpart shower gel and body butter, do not forget also to try the linen spray, after-bath splash, shampoo and conditioner plus skincare range that cleanse, protect, control acne and whiten the skin.

So, here are other delicious head-to-toe treats that will make you linger longer in your bathroom and step out like a star.

Arrange a refreshing rendezvous with spearmint and peppermint in Mint Condition bath soap (P85) or shower gel (P185), and your ever-changing bad mood will go away. My personal favorite, Sugar Rush exfoliating bath salt scrub, contains shea butter, grapeseed oil and Dead Sea salt (P350), which was good enough to eat and scrub my dead skin cells away. Give those locks a thicker do with Growing Manes shampoo (P275). Then, make your skin as soft as ever with Honey Mooners whipped body delight (P285) with honey and goat’s milk.

You could make a sundae from all the tasty-good bath and body products from The Soap Opera Bath Shop. These delicious pastel-colored treats not only look good but also most importantly smell so yummy and each one elicits shrieks and cheers of excitement from all who come near them.
