Its raining glam!
September 21, 2005 | 12:00am
The season of sheer transparent fantasies are over along with the carefree days veiled in sunshine. Always looking at the brighter side of things, the rainy season inspires romance, glamour and old fashioned elegance. With black being the new black of this season and ironically the socially inept Violet from The Incredibles as its muse, its easy to lean towards looking like Tim Burtons Corpse Bride and call it a day.
Always being cavalier in terms of taking a different stroke on things in the most inspiring way, Shiseido brings back a sexy brand of glamour: a patina of sexy oranges, violets, pinks and lots of sparkle without the peacock factor. Its color for any woman to wear without fear. Tom Pécheux, makeup and color creator for STM, proposes Magical Beauty as the makeup theme for autumn 2005. New seasonal colors have been created along with the image of a journey into the magical realm of makeup, into a world that embodies enchantment. Vivacious colors like Candy Pink or Violet Splendor accentuate and light up the face, giving radiance to all the black and deep tones that will be lining up our wardrobes.
Tom started as a pastry chef before becoming the Midas of Shiseido. His former profession explains his predilection for sweet and tarty looks, making the Shiseidos reigning muse Anouck Lepere a real confection to crave for.
Shiseido will launch new colors for autumn 2005 from its global makeup line Shiseido The Makeup (STM), centering on Lifting Foundation (in 14 Asian friendly shades), a moisture-rich cream foundation with a lifting effect that minimizes wrinkles to create a youthful appearance. Its rich formula is loaded with skin caring ingredients and anti-aging potions that will eradicate signs of aging with continuous use. As it may be rich for some, although my dry skin rather loved it, the foundation can be used along with a moisturizer for a sheerer look. Its effect on the skin is amazing. The Accentuating Color Stick (four delicious shades including a great pearl highlighter) is a smooth creamy stick that gives a natural burst of color and radiance to skin.
The lipsticks and eye colors also promises a kaleidescope of dazzling hues. My personal favorite is the Perfecting lipstick in Cantaloupe Kiss, a great creamy coral that is perhaps the new neutral that will look amazing on everyone! Although the new crimson shades are perfectly dramatic, Tom describes his ruby lipstick as the perfect red. Ive never been a red lipstick vixen but these reds just accentuated without being theatrical.
These vibrant, totally feminine makeup items will be consecutively introduced in 70 countries worldwide, including in our respective counters here in Manila.
Enjoy and be bold.
