Venezia goes wild

- Maurice Arcache -
Dishing time
All sorts of loud whispers flew all over Cosmo Manille this past week, dahlings.

Let’s begin with this loud dish about this friend of a friend who met a high profile "he or she" persona in one of Cosmo Manille’s upscale bars.

There was nothing wrong with that, palanggas, but it seemed that the friend of a friend was convinced to accompany the high profile "he or she" persona for another drink somewhere else.

On the way there, the high profile "he or she" persona became super aggressive and forced "his or her" sexual urges on the friend of a friend. So much so that at a stop light, the friend of a friend literally jumped out of the tres expensive four by four and dashed across the street in a panic.

The following day, the high profile "he or she" persona called the friend of a friend and apologized for almost an hour. Was the "he or she" high profile persona forgiven? Moi never did find out, palanggas.

Another loud dish goes that one night during a soiree in a trendy location, a pair of party-goers went to the fire exit for a smoke. To their shock, they discovered a fashionable young male actor (or a basketball star or a pop star?) in a tres, tres embarrassing situation with another fashionable male actor (or a basketball player or pop star?). The party-goers dashed out so fast still not believing what they saw. Oh, well, eat bulaga, gid ya. Di bala?

At another tres, tres chic and expensive location, a dinner party was taking place for a "he or she" super popular persona. The guest list featured our town’s A-1 set.

In walks a super eye-catching persona "he or she" who breezed over to say "hello" to one or two of the guests who were chatting with some other invitees. One or two of the other invitees – who apparently couldn’t stand this super, super eye-catching persona and did not even look at the "he or she" eye-catching persona who was standing right in front of them – almost engaged in a raging verbal attack with the "he or she" super eye-catcher who must have sensed their dagger words flying his or her way.

The super, super eye-catcher, after saying his or her "hellos" moved away from the scene and spent the evening chatting with other guests far from the two raging bulls.

Another dish being whispered about is about this mega business persona (or is it banker or politician) who asked not one! not two! but three! "he or she" personas to spend a night at a well-known place (for fun? to eat? to have a business deal? to impress? or to have sex?).

The next day, it seemed that the one, or two, or three "he or she personas" were – take your pick – absolutely satisfied; scandalized; happy; or furious.

The loud dish flying around is that this business persona (or banker or politician) must be one hell of a fantastic persona.

La-di-da-da is all moi can say, palanggas.

Then there’s the dish about this young, up, upscale host or hostess, who gave a luncheon or dinner for a "he or she" super social persona at a luxury location, dahlings.

Apparently, one of the gorgeous invitees had to leave early and was being escorted from the elevator by the host or hostess to the gorgeous persona’s car. But, while in the elevator, the host or hostess engaged in a real hot necking scene with the "he or she" invitee. Only while walking out of the luxury location did the involved personas see the building’s security video – which had a view of the elevator – on several TV sets sitting beside the security guard at the entrance.

No wonder the security guard had a naughty smile on his face when the "he or she" host or hostess, returned to the party.

Ooops! The moral of this story – beware of those peeping eyes, palanggas!

The loudest dish is about the upcoming fabulous affair which will be presented by the Opera Guild of the Philippines headed by patroness of the arts, ultra-glamorous Imelda Cojuangco and the prestigious Singapore Lyric Opera in cooperation with our very own National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

To be presented is Giuseppe Verdi’s fantastic, mind-blowing opera, Trovatore, a haunting tale of love and romance. It will be presented on Sept. 14 and 15 (encircle these dates, dahlings!) at 8 p.m. at the CCP Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo.

This grand opera production, dahlings, will be the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert season’s opening event. It marks the 100th death anniversary of Italian Giuseppe Verdi, one of the world’s greatest composers. The one-of-a-kind event will feature an international cast of world-renowned outstanding artists, dahlings.

This is definitely a must-go-to event of this year. More on this sooner than soon, palanggas.

Two Saturday nights ago, dahlings, it was raging wild at the fully-packed Dish in Rockwell’s Power Plant’s third level.

Dish, if you still don’t know it yet, palanggas, is the place one goes to so as to see and be seen in while having a blast like the invitees of Summit Publishing’s top young lady, Liza Gokongwei, who celebrated her birthday.

She was joined by some pals like Berna Romulo-P. and her husband, handsome dude Dave Puyat; witty and brilliant Robina Gokongwei-P. and her hubby, in- demand lawyer Perry Pe; back from their New York holiday, popular couple Rico and Tina Ocampo; plus others like them too beautiful and famous to mention who all had a ball.

In another table was the well-respected Thai Ambassador Ravee Hongsaprabhas with some friends. Waiting for their table and finally getting it (see what happens when you go without prior reservations, dahlings!) was glamorous former First Lady Imelda Marcos with gorgeous Rep. Imee Marcos and Imee’s sons Borgy, Matthew and Michael.

Another table had the fun, fun groupie of our very own Philippine STAR president and CEO, that gentleman of men, smart and good-looking Miguel Belmonte, whose muscular body can make any woman swoon (but it is only for his wife, dahlings!). He was with his super eye-catching, twinkle-eyed beautiful wife Millet Francia-B. and their gang whow partied the night away. Millet B.’s sister was set to jet off to the US the following day.

Another table had the fun pack of new guards enjoying the Rage. They included Joey and Marissa Concepcion; John and Peachy Concepcion; beautiful young couple Gary and Karen Romualdez who celebrated another gorgeous year of her life at the stroke of 12 midnight with close pal, young miss of substance and style Patricia Panlilio Cu-Unjieng; fun, fun ultra glamorous Vicky Zubiri; plus so many other partying personas who turned Dish into a raging cauldron of music, jumping bodies and super vibes with the Rage playing ’80s music.

Needless to say, dahlings, Juan Miguel Salvador was the star of the show. He played the electric piano and sang with the fabulous Marissa while clowning beautifully around. The two sent the diners jumping out of their seats and dancing on whatever space they could find. Now, that’s what I call really partying, palanggas.

It was a warm outside, but it was sizzling and packed inside our town’s upscale club, Venezia Bar & Restaurant.

The event, naturellement, was Wild on Venezia organized together with E! Philippines’ Wild On Show. The party proved to be the most-talked about party of the month, dahlings, as people went out to celebrate a"state of un-inhibitions."

Pretty gals were stationed at the reception to ensure the exclusivity of the party which was a strictly by-invitation-only affair. Dark curtains, palanggas, were installed at the door to ensure privacy and the "leave-it-to-your-imagination" slightly "rated-R" goings-on inside.

First on the scene was the party’s mastermind and Venezia’s "First Lady" Cecile Ysmael who gave last minute instructions to the Wild on Venezia Posse. The Posse consisted of the sexiest and most daring male and female models as well as winners of the recent Bikini Open Contest.

As soon as the place filled up, the Wild Posse went around daring guests to a round of tequila body shots. Apres a few drinks, some guests finally got the courage to accept the challenge. They went up the round bar which served as a stage to lick, shoot and suck (tequila of course, silly!).

The bar overflowed with booze till 11 p.m. courtesy of Smirnoff Mule, Jose Cuervo Tequila, Blavod Vodka and the wicked, but wow Agwa.

Getting absolutely loose and having a wild fun time, palanggas, were the ever active Angie Cumabao; restaurateur Thelina Nuval; mother and daughter tandem Rosario and Heidi Ng; attractive Claudine Trillo; and vivaciously wild Peachy Veneracion who arrived with the gorgeous winners of the Ms. Philippines beauty contest.

Aso seen were exotic beauty with a body to-die-for, Jane Yu; blue-blooded sultry looker, Bledes Fores; and adorable feminine beauty Karen Romualdez.

It was a hot and humid night but it sure was "raining men! (hallelujah!)" as handsome Rustom Padilla; Mike O’Connor; Southern gent Thirdy Escaño; polo player and businessman Iñigo Zobel; Illac Diaz; fun Manolet Lagdameo; good-looking TV and movie star Eric Quizon; Noel Oñate; IDP’s head honcho Brian Thompson; EM Lingao; Roden Cardeño; Future Trade’s James Duvuvier; hunk-y popular cagers Jason Webb, Eric Menk, James Walkvist, Rudy Hatfield and any girl’s dream man Vince Hizon partied hard for a change together with all-around athlete David Buenavacz who got loose on the dance floor with his wife, head turner Jessica Rodriguez.

This bash wasn’t strictly for singles and single-for-the-night partyphiles. Fun married personas dug in and got wild like Peng and Vicky Perez de Tagle; Mr. and Mrs. Mike O’Connor; and Richie and Faith Lavarro. The group of E! Philippines were tres visible and arrived in full typhoon force, headed by Sandy Ocampo and the pretty, pretty Rita Gomez.

Indeed, palanggas, only Venezia could throw a party as risqué as this and get away with it. After all, it was in the spirit of clean fun.

Check it out now! It will definitely be the brightest young star in the galaxy.

Well, that’s our town, palanggas. Not bad, huh? See you!
