Guilly Luchangco’s 80th birthday celebration

MANILA, Philippines — “I’m really, really surprised.  It seems that my children planned this whole party, with the able support of my wife and secretary, without my even suspecting it!” … is all Guilly Luchangco could say after he walked into the Turf Room of the Manila Polo Club to find himself surrounded by about 160 friends gathered for his 80th birthday party.  Guests from various facets of his life were present and waiting to surprise him. 

They came from his school days at De La Salle University

and Harvard Business School, his former employers such as Procter & Gamble, Management Resources Inc., SGV and, of course, the member companies of the ICCP Group, which he founded and runs. 

Also present were friends he developed in various business associations and those with whom he has regular breakfast, lunch or dinner meetings with. The evening proceeded in a festive mood, with several speeches, including two of his children, while another son acted as program host.
