Art disputed: The Vexed Contemporary at MCAD
MANILA, Philippines – Sixteen Filipino artists contributed their unique compositions to a collaborative exhibition entitled The Vexed Contemporary - a rich and compelling collection of pieces defying the definition of “contemporaneity” and its perceived conceptual and creative limitations, which was launched recently at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD).
The participants are Pio Abad, Poklong Anading, Victor Balanon, Yason Banal, Lena Cobangbang, Louie Cordero, Kiri Dalena, Leslie De Chavez, Kawayan De Guia, Patricia Perez Eustaquio, Cocoy Lumbao, Gina Osterloh, Gary-Ross Pastrana, Ikoy Ricio, Maria Taniguchi and The Weather Bureau.
The exhibit, which ended on Nov. 21, 2015, was held at the ground floor of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, School of Design and Arts Campus, Dominga St., Malate, Manila.
