Mexico National Day @ New World Hotel
MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of the 204th Anniversary of the Independence of Mexico on September 15, 2014, Mexican Ambassador Julio Camarena-Villaseñor, led the Mexican community in Manila to the traditional “Grito de Dolores”, which symbolically expressed their nationalism. Held at the New World Hotel, the event gathered around 500 guests coming from the Diplomatic Corps, the Philippine government, the business sector and from many other institutions with which the Embassy maintains close ties. A Mexican menu prepared by Chef Daniela Romero was served to the guests’ delight during the occasion. The evening was made even more special as multi-awarded singer Flor Ivon Quezada sang the Mexican “rancheras” with the Mariachi group “Achai”.
