66th National Day of Israel at New World Hotel

MANILA, Philippines - The 66th National Day of the State of Israel was all about merriment and celebration as the Israel Embassy in Manila hosted the festivities at the New World Hotel, Makati City last May 5, 2014.

DFA Secretary Albert del Rosario shared with the audience the experience his grandfather had when he was in Nazi, Germany during the Kristallnacht (Night of the Broken Glass) – a program against the Jews in Germany and Austria. Judge Simplicio Sempio Del Rosario rode a ship and fled the country when he met two Jewish women who had nowhere to go. The kind-hearted judge opened the doors of his country and gave them jobs.

Renowned Israeli artist Tal Kravitz brought his enthusiasm to the event by singing songs in Tagalog and Hebrew which made the audience sing and dance.
