Hail & Farewell @ Makati Shangri-la

MANILA, Philippines - Makati Shangri-La, Manila recently unveiled its second ballroom named Isabela, a more stylized and modern event space pegged to be the new venue of choice for corporate and social gatherings in the heart of the city’s business and entertainment district. The unveiling took place in an intimate gathering of business influencers, diplomatic circle, social and media personalities, together with the hotel’s key executives, in an event entitled Nouveau, which signifies new beginnings. A cornerstone of the evening was also the turnover ceremony of Makati Shangri-La’s new area manager and general manager, Alain Borgers.

Makati Shangri-La’s outgoing area manager and general manager Reto Klauser commenced the evening’s event and introduced Mr. Borgers. The turnover was marked with a ceremonial passing of the “key” to the incoming area manager and general manager of the hotel. Aside from his hotel base in Makati, Mr. Borgers will now be at the helm of other Shangri-La hotels and resorts in the Philippines.
