French National Day

MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of the French National Day on July 14, His Excellency Ambassador Gilles Garachon and his wife Isabelle welcomed guests from the diplomatic corps, various government agencies, and from the economic, business, and cultural sectors to the French residence last July 8. Ambassador Garachon noted that this year’s celebration is different from the previous years as Bastille Day was celebrated a week earlier, but nevertheless served to commemorate the universal values of liberté, égalité, and fraternité that inspired not only the French Revolution, but transformed political thought all over the world. He expressed his elation over the very positive state of French-Philippine relations politically, culturally, and economically, and hoped for this momentum to continue.
