Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas marked its 20th Anniversary

MANILA, Philippines - BSP hosted a dinner for leaders of the Philippine banking community and other partner organizations in appreciation for their support and cooperation in implementing monetary and banking policies and programs. Bangko Sentral Governor Amando M. Tetangco, Jr. said “Our sound, stable and liquid Philippine banking sector is one of the reasons why our country finally earned investment grade this year; our banks continue to fund productive activities that sustain economic growth”. Governor Amando M. Tetangco, Jr. is concurrent chairman of the Monetary Board, the policy-making body of the BSP. The members of the MB are Finance Secretary Cesar V. Purisima, Alfredo C.  Antonio, Ignacio R. Bunye, Peter B. Favila, Felipe M. Medalla, and Armando L. Suratos. The three Deputy Governors of the BSP are Nestor A. Espenilla, Jr., Diwa C. Guinigundo and Vicente S. Aquino.
