German Unity @ Dusit Thani

MANILA, Philippines - The German Embassy in Manila celebrated the 21st anniversary of German reuinification at the Grand Ballroom of the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati. Making a debut that evening was the new German envoy to the Philippines Ambassador Dr. Joachim Heidorn. Former head of mission of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; Ambassador Heidorn was received and accredited by President Aquino earlier that day.

“Germany and the Philippines are separated by geographical distance but united by common democratic values and a history of long-standing cooperation,” said Dr. Heidorn in his first speech as Ambassador to the Philippines. Foreign dignitaries, representatives of the different German institutions in the Philippines and partners from the business and government sector were present during the celebration.
