Korea celebrates national day
MANILA, Philippines - The Embassy of the Republic of Korea celebrated the National Day and Armed Forces Day recently at the newly-inaugurated chancery in Taguig. The National Foundation Day is a celebration of the founding of Korea’s first dynasty of Gojoseon four thousand years ago.
Ambassador Hye Min LEE stressed that the Philippines and Korea have long been enjoying strong ties since the establishment of the diplomatic relations in 1949, reinforced by the camaraderie on the battlefield during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. The ambassador cited that the two countries are beacons of democracy in Asia and are currently making outstanding progress in trade and investment.
