Top Philippine fashion brands open to business opportunities in Indonesia
MANILA, Philippines - The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export promotions arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), will bring nine fashion retail brands to meet with prospective foreign business partners in the Franchise & License Expo Indonesia (FLEI) through the Philippines Brands in Motion.
The top Philippine brands comprising the Philippine delegation to FLEI are: Anemone, Bench, Figlia, Karimadon, MINT, Onesimus, Plains & Prints, Rusty Lopez, and So Fab!
The Philippines Brands in Motion at the FLEI is a branding initiative led by CITEM in partnership with the Philippine Franchise Association, Philippine Retailers Association and the Philippine Trade Investment Center Jakarta to globalize Filipino fashion retail brands by partnering with foreign brands, and create international awareness of the design and manufacturing capabilities of Philippine apparel and footwear companies.
The Philippines continues to be one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate of 7.2 percent in 2013 and among the contributors to the upsurge of its economy is the exceptional performance of its manufacturing sector.
“These top brand reflect the Philippines’ ability to meet the growing needs of the global market,” says CITEM executive director Rosvi Gaetos. “With their artistic designs and authentic brand stories, they will help in building a strong image and develop international awareness of the capability of Philippine manufacturers in producing products and brands at par with global standards.”
“We would like to invite all interested entrepreneurs looking for outstanding fashion retailers, manufacturers, and franchisors to come and visit the Philippine pavilion at FLEI and explore business opportunities with top fashion labels from the Philippines known for their artistic designs and authentic brand concepts,” she said.
In light of the impending implementation of the ASEAN Integration in 2015, many brands from the Philippines are starting to venture into the international market. With Indonesia having the 10th biggest economy in the world in terms of purchasing power parity, FLEI 2014 is a potent venue for these brands to aim for regional expansion.
FLEI will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center Assembly Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia from Sept. 12 to 14.
