Lixil helps typhoon Yolanda victims

MANILA, Philippines - Top Lixil Group executives, LGC CEO Toshimasa Iue, Lixil ASEAN+ COO Bill Crichton and Lixil Group executive officer in charge of CSR Harumi Matsumura, visited Manuel M. Lopez, Philippine ambassador to Japan, on Nov. 28 to express their condolences over the victims of typhoon Yolanda and presented a certificate of donation to help the families of the survivors.

Ambassador Lopez graciously received the certificate of donation signed by Lixil Group president and CEO Yoshiaki Fujimori.

Tokyo-based Lixil Group Corporation contributed 10 million yen through the international emergency humanitarian aid organization Japan Platform (JPF), and Lixil Global Company donated 10,000 plates, 10,000 dishes, 10,000 spoons and 10,000 children’s toothbrushes to UNICEF Philippines, while more than US$2,000 was presented by Lixil Philippines to the Philippine Red Cross.

Lixil execs also announced the launch of the Lixil Group global relief drive in order to raise funds to be donated this December. Employees of the company based in 30 countries will be participating in the cause.

Ambassador Lopez conveyed his utmost gratitude and acknowledged the strong continuing partnership between the Philippines and Lixil.
