Ex-Citibankers reunite for a cause

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Former employees of Citibank recently gathered at the Bayanihan Center on Pioneer for a sweet reunion called Balik Citi Ulit 2013.

Held bi-annually by ex-Citibankers, Balik Citi served as a venue for former colleagues to reconnect, years after parting to move on to other organizations or fields.

As the country’s largest foreign bank, Citibank has successfully honed thousands of professionals in the banking sector, many of whom have become captains of the industry. In addition, Citibank is celebrating its 111th anniversary in the Philippines this year.

Attendees were grouped according to their “batch” in Citibank: the ‘70s, the ‘80s, the ‘90s, and the 2000s. Among them were Batara Sianturi, current Citibank Philippines CEO; Danny Ignacio and Hermie Pugeda, who headed the event’s organizing committee; Max Edralin, Flor Tarriela, Alberto Villarosa, Tony Chua, Gil Genio, Topper Coronel, Ben Castillo, and Do Ejercito.

The ex-Citibankers rekindled old friendships, over good food, drinks, and music.

First organized in 2009, Balik Citi reunion has been consistently supported by the following major corporate sponsors: Citibank, PLDT, Globe Telecom and MasterCard.
