SkyCable joins Knowledge Channel’s education advocacy
MANILA, Philippines - A firm believer in giving back to the community, the country’s largest cable TV provider with the widest choice of cable TV channels for family life’s enrichment, SkyCable, has recently partnered with the country’s first and only local curriculum-based educational TV channel to raise funds for education through the Knowledge Channel Foundation (KCFI).
In line with the company’s mission, SkyCable’s partnership with KCFI places education at the forefront of its efforts of enriching the lives of every Filipino family beyond quality cable TV entertainment.
KCFI, through the Knowledge Channel (K Channel), aims to provide children and other learners access to quality basic education. With the creation of interesting and compelling educational materials, K Channel helps in making learning easy, more relevant, dynamic and engaging in classrooms, learning centers, and homes.
This advocacy-driven partnership allows SkyCable subscribers in Metro Manila to automatically donate P 4 of their monthly cable TV dues to KCFI by simply switching to the eco-friendly Electronic Statement of Account (ESOA). Proceeds will then be used to provide learning materials to increase the quality of education for today’s Filipino youth.
As the only curriculum-based television, K Channel (on SkyCable Ch. 7) has adapted its programming, and video and online website content to pattern the K to12 curriculum introduced by the Department of Education.
