Luminox marks NBI anniversary with limited-edition watch
MANILA, Philippines - Swiss watch brand Luminox announced the production of a commemorative wristwatch to mark the 76th anniversary of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). With only 200 manufactured pieces, the watches are available for reservation exclusively at Multiply.com.
To be released January 2013, the Luminox Limited Edition 76th Anniversary NBI Commemorative Wristwatch is based on Luminox’s Navy Seal series, which combines the stealth and visibility essential for the operations of the world’s elite tactical forces such as the US Navy Seals, US Air Force F-117 Nighthawk Pilots, US Secret Service and the FBI. It has a unique self-powered illumination system that makes the dial visible without need of a light source, making the time continuously visible for up to 25 years.
Featuring a Swiss quartz movement, it measures 44mm in diameter and is water-resistant up to 200 meters. The case and one-way rotating bezel is PC carbon-reinforced, with a stainless-steel crown and hardened-mineral glass face. The NBI seal appears on the watch face and case back, as well as the box.
The timepieces comes in two styles: the Blackout style features black numerals on a black dial, while the Black & White style features white numerals on a black dial. Both will feature Luminox’s unique self-powered illumination system and signature 23mm black polyurethane strap with steel-brushed buckle.
Only 200 of the NBI Commemorative Wristwatches will be made, all stamped with unique serial numbers at the back and on the steel-brushed buckle. An authentication certificate comes with each timepiece.
Priced at P17,995, a down-payment of P3,500 will be required to guarantee reservation of one timepiece, deductible from the unit price as soon as the units are available for shipment. The timepieces are expected to arrive on or before Jan. 15, 2013.
