Convergys treats Bacolod employees to Summerfest

MANILA, Philippines - Most companies host summer outings, but Convergys is not like most companies. It’s better.  Now the country’s largest private employer, Convergys treated its Bacolod site employees to a summer festival.  Over 800 employees from the Bacolod contact center celebrated from day into night as part of Convergys’ annual Employee Appreciation and Summerfest.

After a weekend of sports competitions, with different teams from different client accounts fielding players in badminton, basketball, volleyball, swimming and cheer dance, Convergys held awarding ceremonies to recognize these athletic greats.

Convergys’ Bacolod team chose Sta. Fe Resort as the venue for the awarding and evening festivities.  In the heat of the summer season, agents took advantage of the resort’s Olympic-sized pool to jump in and cool off joined by managers and team leaders.

Colorful product booths offered agents an array of fun and free services.  Convergys agents could relax with a 15-minute back massage, shop for Havaianas products at discounted prices, get “funky” and creative nail art services at special prices, or check out new mobile phones and subscription plans from Globe Telecom.

Twenty lechons were served along with a smorgasbord of other fine dishes for the agents’ dining pleasure.  The party went on with freebies and raffle prizes of spa gift certificates.  For the evening’s entertainment, fire dancers and the rising local band UpStream performed for the crowd of Convergys employees and their families.

“The food was great and we had a dynamic band to entertain us!  SummerFest 2011 was a blast!” said Bacolod employee Philip Porras.

Convergys’ Bacolod site, which first opened in 2008, is one of Convergys’ 14 facilities around the country.  Convergys maintains eight sites in Metro Manila, four in Cebu City, one in Sta. Rosa Laguna, and another nearing completion in Baguio City.
