Sun Cellular supports Tomas Leonor's Walk for Life
MANILA, Philippines - On April 4, one man started dedicating his time, effort, and strength to make a difference in the lives of cancer-stricken children. Tomas Leonor, a 27-year-old mountaineer, artist, and advocate, started walking from Samar and will end up in Boracay today, May 30, in a quest to raise funds for children under the Philippine Children’s Medical Center. In this endeavor, he is not walking alone.
Tomas’s project, Step Juan, started around June 2009, and it has taken him all around the archipelago in the hopes of being able to raise funds to help cure cancer-stricken children. Through the years, he has gained a lot of support from partners, enthusiasts, and fellow advocates, and become popular nationwide for his selflessness and perseverance. As he tours the country, a provider supports Tomas and helps others keep track of his journey. He has found a partner to help him stay in touch with the people that he’s left behind — Sun Cellular.
Sun Cellular has provided Leonor with a Track & Trace-enabled handset — a tool that he can utilize to stay connected not just with family and friends, but with all his supporters as well. With Sun Cellular’s Track & Trace solution, people can track Tomas’s whereabouts in an instant, as the person holding the handset is constantly being located by Sun Cellular’s server every 10 minutes, thereby providing location reports in real time.
“Sun Cellular has Track & Trace Asset and Track & Trace Personnel to offer to business clients — two new solutions that help increase efficiency and help improve personnel and asset security in business operations by providing real-time site updates,” Michelle Curran, VP for Business Solutions and Performance Analytics explained.
