GE Industrial Solutions strengthens innovation in Southeast Asia

MANILA, Philippines -  GE’s Industrial Solutions recently participated in the 35th Annual National Convention Expo 2010 hosted by The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) of the Philippines at SMX Convention Center to strengthen the company’s leading role in innovation throughout the Southeast Asia region.

Cristino Panlilio, undersecretary of National Trade and Industry, visited Industrial Solutions’ booth and showed a great deal of interest in GE’s various power distribution solutions and products.

Industrial Solutions has always valued the Philippines as one of its strategic markets within Southeast Asia. By Oct 2010, sales revenue in the Philippines reached up to $18 million, with 90 percent of revenue generated from LV Components. This was due primarily to the strong demand in a developing commercial building industry. Moreover, having strong local distribution relationships are also significant. A case in point is one of its key local distributors, KC Industrial Company Limited, which achieved 74-percent growth versus last year’s performance.

The complete range of power distribution solutions and products were bought to the show reasserting GE Industrial Solutions’ position as a leading company in their field. Best- selling products including transformers, medium voltage vacuum circuit breaker, Spectra series Busway system and VAT 300 for control and automation were introduced to local customers.

Country manager Matthew Duque and his team, together with the support from APO marketing and KC Industrial Company, successfully organized the GE booth and tradeshow. Kris Tan, Asia commercialization manager, gave a vivid presentation around the theme of cleaner, smarter and more efficient solutions for power distribution. Professionals from a variety of industries and media were encouraged to attend the exhibition.
