New online shopping perks for BDO Amex card members

MANILA, Philippines - In addition to the myriad perks and savings enjoyed by American Express card members from merchants in the Philippines and around the world, card members now also have access to a new service as they shop online.

Through www.globaleshop. com/bdo, American Express card members can enjoy shopping at websites in the United States and the United Kingdom and have their purchases delivered to their doorsteps in the Philippines. Additionally, they can also receive special offers and other unique treats such as $30 off shipping for their first shipment, and 1,000 Membership Rewards points for each of the first three shipment transactions made on Globaleshop.

According to Agnes Aragon of BDO, exclusive merchants acquirer and issuer of American Express cards in the Philippines, “In both the real and online arenas, we are pleased to be offering our card members a world of privileges.”

Aragon explains that Globaleshop gives Philippine card members “the freedom to shop at US and UK online stores and have their purchases delivered to the Philippines.” She relates that many locals are unable to make purchases from US and UK online stores because these websites do not ship internationally or have high delivery charges to the Philippines.

Card members who register at Globaleshop, which is an exclusive service for American Express Card members, will be provided their own unique US/UK addresses. Purchases made by card members on US or UK websites will be delivered to that address respectively. A card member can opt to consolidate his online purchases before having them shipped altogether to the Philippines, according to Aragon. He can also opt for express delivery for a special fee and get the purchased items within three to seven days. 

To celebrate the launch of Globaleshop to American Express card members, BDO is offering up to 3,000 Membership Rewards (MR) points up to Dec. 31 for card members’ first three shipments with Globaleshop. Aragon also confirmed that card members can enjoy savings of US$30 on the first shipment if he successfully registers at Globaleshop by Oct. 31. Thereafter, card members receive 10-percent savings on every shipment cost.

Aragon relates that many American Express card members shop online. “We looked at their preferences and changing habits and decided to offer Globaleshop as still another way to delight our customers,” she says.

 Aragon further explains that the Globaleshop website has an online cost calculator that provides shoppers an estimate on shipping costs, duties and taxes based on volume and weight. “We want our card members to realize that an American Express card is a passport to great values and offers.”
