Rustan's holds Italian festival till July 17

MANILA, Philippines - Rustan Commercial Corporation and Stores Specialists, Inc., in cooperation with Metrobank Card and supported by the Embassy of Italy, recently launched a series of events including fashion shows, lifestyle workshops, and cooking demonstrations to celebrate Italy.

Customers will get a taste of Italian fashion, food and culture in Rustan’s Italian Festival from June 15 to July 17.

Italian Ambassador to the Philippines Luca Fornari officially opened the celebration with a ceremonial toast along with wife, Silvana, Rustan Commercial Corporation president Zenaida Tantoco, Vice President-elect Jejomar Binay, Congressman Freddie Tinga, Metrobank Card president Riko Abdurrahman, and Murano glass artist Luigi Moro.

Rustan’s then unveiled Murano creations by the renowned Venetian glassmaker before touring guests around the department store’s tribute to the different cities of Italy.

A rare encounter with famed jewelry designer Roberto Coin followed the opening event on June 18 and 19 with an exclusive preview of his latest collection. A display of gastronomic delights such as deli items, wine and cooking demonstrations were also held recently at Rustan’s Supermarket branches in Makati and Rockwell.

Italian brands like A/X Armani Exchange, Ermenegildo Zegna, Marlboro Classics, Diesel, and Spaziale Splendy came together for an exclusive preview of the latest in Italian high fashion at Rustan’s Makati on June 24.

Complementing the fashion were accessories from Bulgari, Prada, Furla, Hogan, Tod’s, Fendi, Emilio Pucci, Fratelli Rossetti, Bric’s, and Brosca. Favorite Italian labels like Salvatore Ferragamo, Franco Sarto, Superga, Giuseppe Zanotti Designs, Magnanni, Fratelli Rossetti, and Bruno Magli also had fashionable displays on hand.

On July 8, an Italian-inspired fashion presentation featuring Oleg Cassini’s collection will be the highlight of a show at Rustan’s Shangri-La Plaza. 

Other festival activities include a Chicco Italian Play Date for little tots on July 3, 10 and 17 at Rustan’s Shangri-La Plaza, Rustan’s Alabang and Rustan’s Gateway, respectively; Italian Coffee Sampling by Delonghi every weekend starting June 19 at Rustan’s Makati and Shangri-La Plaza; the Power of Scents featuring various fragrance products on July 1 at Rustan’s Makati; and Italian Living and Entertaining on July 15 also at Rustan’s Makati.

Exciting prizes will also be given away to lucky shoppers in the Gran Lotteria Raffle Promotion ongoing until July 17. For every P3,000 purchase of any Italian product from Rustan’s Department Store or Stores Specialists, Inc. boutiques, the customer is entitled to one Gran Lotteria raffle ticket.

Prizes include Roberto Coin Roses white earrings, Bric’s Life Series medium and small trolley, Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme Spring 2010 gift set, Gucci Flora Spring 2010 gift set, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Spring 2010 gift set and Light Blue Pour Homme Spring 2010 gift set, Versace Bright Crystal Spring 2010 gift set, Versace Eau Fraiche Spring 2010 gift set, and Chicco gift set.

For the grand prize, Cathay Pacific, which now flies to Milan four times weekly, will give business class tickets for two to Milan, Italy. Metrobank Card holders will also get exclusive prizes.
