PSBank Save It Forward goes beyond borders

-

MANILA, Philippines - Generosity truly knows no race or nationality.

This was proven by a couple from India and a businessman from the United Kingdom who were the second batch of winners of PSBank Save It Forward program. They each won scholarships for less-fortunate children.

“It was a very happy moment when I found out that I won the scholarship,” said Varsha Khemani.

Mr. and Mrs. Shanker Khemani are long-time depositors of PSBank Magallanes branch. The couple gave the scholarship to Emely Sison, a 10-year-old World Vision beneficiary from Aklan. The other scholarship will go to their 15-year-old nephew because their eldest child works in the family business while the youngest is studying in London.

“We pray for Emily and wish her good luck in her life, education and future career,” Varsha adds.

Gary Heard could not believe it when a representative of PSBank Chino Roces branch called him to tell him of his good fortune.

“I didn’t believe it at first but it’s true. I really won,” the good-natured businessman said.

Heard had a hard time choosing a beneficiary because he felt bad for the other children who will not be able to avail of the scholarship. “I just closed my eyes and picked a child from the list. I hope she gets to exchange letters with my 11-year-old daughter so they can bond with each other,” he added. Heard chose 12-year-old Jelou Vertudes of Misamis Occidental, and gave the other scholarship to his daughter.

Everyone stands a chance to win in the final draw on April 15. Simply open a PSBank account or maintain your peso savings, peso checking, and dollar savings accounts. The last 50 winners will get scholarships for their own child and a child beneficiary from World Vision and Resources for the Blind.

One entry number will be issued for every average daily balance (ADB) increment of P5,000 for peso savings and peso checking accounts, and $500 for dollar savings accounts. The higher the ADB and the longer depositors keep the account open, the more entries they get and the more chances of winning in the draw.
