Omega president opens second boutique in the Philippines

Omega president Stephen Urquhart will be in Manila to inaugurate the second Omega boutique in the Philippines, located at the upscale Greenbelt 5.

“Omega has established a strong presence in the Philippines and has enjoyed an excellent reception in the last 60 years,” Urquhart, who will be flying in from Switzerland to attend the much-anticipated opening of the new boutique, said. “So it is fitting that we open a new boutique in the heart of Manila and make our full product range available to Filipinos and serve them even more effectively.” Urquhart will bring with him a Seamaster Planet Ocean watch in a special box signed by Omega brand ambassador George Clooney, the Oscar-winning actor, director and screenwriter. 

The special Seamaster Planet Ocean is a true rarity as Clooney signed only a few watch boxes to be featured at select Omega events around the world. Urquhart pointed out, “This clearly shows how special the Philippines is to Omega.”

Together with local celebrities Richard and Lucy Gomez, Urquhart will place the special Omega watch in a transparent vault. Guests will then be given a key and the lucky holder of the right key will be the new owner of the fine watch housed in the Clooney-signed box.

The new boutique will feature a complete line of Omega’s world-class collections, including the new Seamaster Aqua Terra collection, the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Quantum of Solace limited-edition watch and other 007-related products, as well as the Constellation collection.

The boutique’s design features soothing and warm colors complemented by finely crafted windows, display cases and furniture. On the walls are images of the company’s brand ambassadors — prominent men and women selected for the values they share with Omega.

Nearby is a state-of-the-art customer service center offering world-class service and qualified professionals to answer customers’ questions.

As part of the celebration, Omega is also participating in the first-ever luxury watch exhibit in Manila, “Treasures: The Art of Time.” The large luxury watch exhibition, which is being held to celebrate the opening of eight other luxury watch brand boutiques at Greenbelt 5, is the first of its kind in the Philippines.

For over 160 years, Omega has maintained a reputation for precision, exquisite design, craftsmanship and style.
