A book series that gives entrepreneurs a helping hand
Seeing the need to “give a helping hand” to entrepreneurs as they scout around for opportunities, Dr. Eduardo Morato Jr. recently launched a book series entitled A Trilogy on Entrepreneurship. The three-volume textbook on entrepreneurship culled from almost three decades of research, teaching, mentoring and the actual entrepreneurial pursuits of Morato aims to be a handbook for entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs.
“This book is my way of encouraging Filipinos to try their hand at entrepreneurship,” said Morato, who is also the president of ABS-CBN Bayan Foundation, an organization committed to social and enterprise development through microfinancing, grassroots entrepreneurship, technical skilling, job generation, and the propagation of entrepreneurship education. “It will help them evaluate the many possible opportunities, focus on the most promising ones, establish enterprises to actualize the opportunities, invite investors and financiers to participate, and finally, launch and grow their enterprises.”
Morato has been an educator since 1975. He has constantly introduced new degree and non-degree programs at the Asian Institute of Management where he held various positions. He was dean of the Institute, dean of the Graduate School of Business, associate dean for the Asian Center for Entrepreneurship and associate dean for the Center for Development Management. He conceptualized and developed the innovative Master’s in Entrepreneurship and the socially relevant Master’s in Development Management. He also redesigned the Master in Management into a Business Leadership course for mid-career executives. His other involvements in the field of education include board directorship and chairmanship of the Assumption College. He has lectured extensively all over the Philippines on Education Management and assisted institutions on strategic planning.
“A Trilogy on Entrepreneurship caps three decades of my entrepreneurial, research, teaching and mentoring work on the development of enterprises and the evolution of entrepreneurs. The trilogy is intended for schools offering degree courses on entrepreneurship as well for entrepreneurs who want to be guided in their undertakings,” said Morato.
