And the winner is... Baham Mitra
January 30, 2002 | 12:00am
Running a 300-hectare mango farm in Palawan and being a director of Hard Rock Café are part-time jobs for Abraham Khalil Mitra since most of his working hours are dedicated to gaining the affection of the people in Palawan where he is the reigning congressman. As such, he flies down to the islands where he enjoys the beautiful beaches and clean air then travels back to Manila to attend sessions in Congress as a member of the minority party.
In his first term as a politician, Baham feels the pressure of having to live up to the reputation of his father, Monching Mitra, who was respected as a former speaker of the house, Secretary of Agriculture and other prominent roles. Our 32-year-old bachelor is happy with the events in his life these days as he pauses to reflect on his interests in cockfighting and dogs.
