Bato dela Rosa celebrates birthday at Sinulog 2024 with Cebu Lechon
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Sen. Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa marked his 62nd birthday at the Sinulog sa Sugbo 2024 in South Road Properties (SRP), Cebu City.
During his speech, Bato announced that he will continue their advocacy against illegal drugs and that at his birthday celebration, he will treat attendees with Cebu's famous Lechon.
Apart from Bato, other politicians such as Senators Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. and Christopher "Bong" Go took the podium to address the attendees, which included politicians from rival parties such as Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan, Jose Manuel Tadeo "Chel" Diokno, and Sen. Risa Hontiveros.
"Viva Senyor Sto. Niño! Pit Senyor!" dela Rosa ended.
"Pit Senyor!" means "Long Live the Christ Child!," a common greeting and expression during the Sinulog Festival, which honors the Sto. Niño or the child image of Jesus Christ, the oldest religious artifact in the Philippines gifted to Rajah Humabon by conquistador Ferdinand Magellan in 1521. — Video by Deni Rose M.
