Likha Pilipinas summit at CCP and DLSU

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The 1st Philippine Multi-disciplinary Summit on Creativity and Innovation will be held on Oct. 13 and 14 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and De La Salle University (DLSU). The event is organized by DLSU with the CCP, and supported by the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA), in coordination with other private organizations.

The event combines academic/theoretical inputs with multi-disciplinary and practical applications of creativity with the end goal of creating awareness among the target audiences in realizing the value of the creative thinking and creative industries and providing support for its growth in the future. The summit brings together educators, arts practitioners, the government sector and private sector in the fields of education, culture and arts, business, tourism, manufacturing, industrial design, public administration,  sciences — health and environment, and other related fields that can work in congruence with the arts.

The summit aims to deepen our understanding of the concept of creativity, its application to various disciplines, and how it can be harnessed for innovating and improving the country’s quality of life by providing a platform to share existing practices of harnessing creativity in the various sectors, as well as solicit suggestions and commitments leading to policy-making for supporting creative industries from the public and stakeholders.
